Silver Sands CampGround is located in Cap Pele on the Northumberland Strait approximately 15 km(10 mi) east of Shediac.Silver Sands was day 4 and 5 of our 1998 Atlantic Canada Vacation and we camped on site 29e. It is approx 1115 km(700 mi) from our home. It is open from May to Sept.
The campground is mostly in the open except for the tent sites which back on a partially forested area. There are 173 sites from basic tent to fully serviced sites for trailers. Silver Sands host is Richard Mitton and his wife. The facilities were clean and proper most of the time.
The only complaint we had was that overnighters were allowed to keep their truck and trailer hitched thus blocking ours and others view of the ocean.
The campground is 10-15 feet above the water with a path and steps leading down to the nice sandy beach. We plan to return here on our next trip to the area as it is a very beautiful and peaceful place. The Confederation Bridge and the P.E.I. shoreline can be seen on the far horizon.
Our 1999 vacation included a return to Silver Sands Campground.
The summer telephone number for Silver Sands is (506)577-6771
