Twin Shores Campground is located on the Gulf of St. Lawrence in Darnley Basin. It is approximately 60 km(38 mi) from Borden-Carleton . Getting to P.E.I. was via the Confereration Bridge from New Brunswick, a distance of 14 km(9 mi).Twin Shores was day 6, 7, 8 and 9 of our 1998 Atlantic Canada Vacation and we camped on site WE-40B. Although we made reservations at the last moment, our campsite (in the open) gave us very nice view of the ocean, lighthouses and rows and rows of PEI potatoes as far as the eye (pun intended) could see. The campground is open from the beginning of June to mid September.
The World Famous Malpeque Oyster comes from this area.
Gloria, being a fan of the TV series "Emily of New Moon" was really excited when we visited Cabot Beach where a lot of the program is filmed
Our four days in the area included visiting Summerside, Kensington, Malpeque and some of the off road areas.
We hope to return to PEI in 1999 and would have no hesitation to staying at Twin Shores although the temptation to try new places is very strong.
Since we are away from, we would like to hear other peoples suggestions about where to camp on The Island.
